SLED INVESTIGATING COLE’S TOWING-IATD WSPA INTERVIEW

.
We contacted Spartanburg, Anderson, Greenville, and other surrounding city and county council offices about Cole Towing. We gathered signatures from residents, protested, spoke to the council and the Sheriff’s offices in these cities and counties. Eventually, this led to his business license being SUSPENDED but we still want it REVOKED. We will stay the course.
Last May, IATD also contacted SLED regarding Coles Towing terrorizing low-income families and persons with disabilities. SLED interviewed several residents from several targeted communities regarding their personal interactions with Cole Towing. We are pleased to see SLED now actually move against this criminal enterprise.
Spartanburg County, SC – (WSPA) — The S.C. Law Enforcement Division has confirmed the agency has an ongoing investigation into Cole’s Towing.
The business was in the news recently after Cole’s Towing owner and an employee were arrested while attempting to tow a car on Saturday in Spartanburg County.
The 7th Circuit Solicitor conflicted the prosecution of those charges to the Attorney General’s Office for a conflict of interest involving an employee.
7 News also learned that the 7th Circuit Solicitor conflicted a case to the Attorney General in May. In that letter, the solicitor states he’s enclosed case files from SLED, Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, and Spartanburg Police Department.
SLED confirmed that it was asked to investigate. A spokesperson for the agency said they could not comment on the ongoing investigation.
When we reached out to Cole’s attorney, he stated he was not aware of the SLED investigation.
